Pauline Nugid
Program and Operations Specialist
Pauline first became interested in public health as a child during a medical mission trip to rural Philippines, where she saw firsthand how access to basic healthcare could make a difference in a community. That experience sparked a lasting interest in helping others and eventually led her to explore the systems, programs, and policies that shape health outcomes. She spent 15+ years at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, working across multiple program areas including program operations and budget formulation. Her work has focused on making complex programs easier to navigate and creating systems that reduce administrative burden and help teams work more effectively. She also led an FDA internship program, facilitating mentorship and professional development opportunities for the next generation of public servants.
Her interest in public health has also taken her into community-based health education, screening, and data-focused projects in Maryland, New Mexico, and the Philippines. These experiences have shaped her interest in the ways research, programs, and systems can work together to address community needs. She joined JGRE to bring these experiences together and support research and evaluation in service of the health, well-being, and livelihoods of individuals and communities.
Pauline is currently completing her Master of Public Health at the George Washington University and holds a degree from the University of Maryland School of Public Health. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring the great outdoors through hiking, camping, and learning how to forage. She has a particular interest in plants, loves a good cup of coffee, and enjoys traveling and spending time with family.
