JG uses a range of basic and advanced statistical techniques to analyze data, identify patterns, trends, and relationships. When paired with data visualizations, these results help to communicate findings effectively. We use various open-source tools and techniques to create concise and compelling visualizations that can be easily understood by end users and increase your capacity for data-driven decision making.

Specific statistical analysis projects at JG:

Cannabis Use Montana Survey 

JG staff led the implementation of a web survey focused on the prevalence and types of cannabis use among Montana adults prior to the legalization of adult-use marijuana in January 2022. The survey results were collected and presented at the county level using Bayesian multilevel-regressions and poststratification (MrP) to improve prevalence estimates for use by the state Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS).

Naloxone Saturation Estimates

JG staff have characterized current use of naloxone among first responders in Montana and, following SAMHSA guidance, have developed a set of data sources and a geospatial statistical model to estimate naloxone saturation across the state. The purpose is to identify areas of need to guide state and non-profit distribution efforts as well as awareness and training about naloxone use.

Concert Health Research Support

Alongside the research and clinical leads of Concert Health, JG staff are leading a series of analytical studies that use clinical and billing records. Concert Health is a telehealth collaborative care provider focused on improving behavioral health outcomes by providing care coordination and behavioral health services.
